Papillon
Designed by Giulio Iacchetti for MV Line, Papillon revolutionizes the outdoor umbrella with a horizontal opening system that mimics the movement of butterfly wings; it features no central pole and takes up minimal space when closed, keeping the area unobstructed.
When closed, the canopy retracts beneath the structure, remaining protected when not in use. It also comes standard with a vibration-based anemometer that automatically closes the canopy to ensure safety in windy conditions.
The LED lighting integrated into the structure transforms the shading system into a luminous and atmospheric outdoor furnishing element, enhancing its usability during the evening hours.
Papillon offers the convenience of an automatic motorized closure—controllable remotely and fully compatible with home automation systems—ensuring maximum comfort, safety, and practicality.
Also available in a square version (4.00 x 4.00 m with a total height of 3.10 m), keeping the project’s identity intact. Weight: 700 kg
Available in two shapes:
- Circular with a diameter of 4 meters
- Square with 4-meter sides
Equipped with motorized automatic closing, operable remotely, and integrated LED lighting. It is preconfigured for wind, rain, and sun sensors, and can be connected to home automation systems. In the floor-mounted configuration, the umbrella remains stable without ground anchoring. A compact pedestal with appropriate ballast is available, or it can be fixed to the ground with a further reduction of the pedestal to its minimal form.
